Overview / Summary The Supervisor of Business Applications is responsible for overseeing a team of application analysts and specialists to ensure business applications operate efficiently and effectively in support of organizational goals. This role focuses on application management, process improvement, and collaboration with business units to support and enhance business systems.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in implementation, configuration, and support of business applications
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving application issues
- Prior experience managing or supervising teams in application development or related IT areas (preferred)
- Experience in financial services industry and with DevOps tools/practices (highly preferred)
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and/or project management (PMP, Agile) (highly preferred)
- Strong understanding of business applications, ERP systems, CRM platforms, or enterprise-level solutions
- Familiarity with application integration, data management, and workflow automation
- Strong communication skills for working with technical teams and business stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements such as SOX and PCI-DSS
Key Responsibilities - Supervise daily operations of the Business Applications team, ensuring reliable application performance
- Oversee configuration, implementation, and support of business applications aligned with organizational objectives
- Manage incident response and troubleshooting, coordinating with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues
- Ensure proper documentation of business processes, system configurations, and application changes
- Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and execute application strategies for development, support, and optimization
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to business applications
- Lead initiatives to improve application performance, security, and compliance
- Provide mentorship and guidance to application analysts, supporting team development
Application Development & Support - Supervise development, enhancement, and maintenance of applications supporting financial operations (Accounting, Risk Management, Treasury)
- Ensure optimal application performance and address issues, bugs, and enhancement requests
- Gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Coordinate application upgrades, migrations, and system integrations with minimal business disruption
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration - Act as liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors
- Facilitate communication on timelines, deliverables, and expectations
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure integration with enterprise systems
Continuous Improvement & Innovation - Drive initiatives to improve application functionality, performance, and reliability
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to team efficiency
- Stay current on trends, software advancements, and best practices
On-Premises, Hybrid, and Cloud Environments - Supervise applications across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud systems
- Partner with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure stability, security, and performance
- Support cloud migration strategies and transitions from on-premises environments
- Ensure governance and performance monitoring across all environments
Risk & Compliance - Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security standards (SOX, PCI-DSS)
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities
- Support audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning
