Your Impact at GEICO

We are looking to hire a Business Applications Developer to develop robust associate-facing applications to enable business analytics, streamline internal processes, and drive business decisions. You will work closely with Business Partners, Infrastructure Engineers, DevOps, and IT Security.

Responsibilities include assisting with:

  • Translating business requirements into technical design specifications for application system changes and new application systems


  • Coding, debugging, testing and documenting


  • Creating, executing, and evaluating test plans for application systems


  • Configuring servers, researching and implementing software, services and platforms to promote best practices for application development


  • Creating plans for project tasks.


WhatWe'reLooking For

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of SQL, R, Python, or Power BI programming experience


  • 1+ year of full-time relevant work experience in the US


  • BA/BS in a STEM related field, or equivalent work experience


  • Able to work a hybrid schedule based out of Bethesda MD, Chicago IL, or Cleveland OH


Core Skills:

  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced constantly changing work environment


  • Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information, and follow processes


  • Knowledgeable of infrastructure tools and management techniques and able to follow standards and processes that have been published


  • Ability to provide system training to team members as needed


  • Communicate in a clear, concise, professional oral or written manner, to be understood by customers, clients, co-workers, and other employees of the organization


  • Must be able to perform under pressure and stressful situations


  • Must be able to concentrate and demonstrate a capacity for learning technical concepts and adapting to new technologies quickly


Preferred Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Snowflake and/or other Enterprise Data Warehouse databases


  • 1+ years of IT infrastructure and DevOps teams experience


Annual Salary
$71,750.00 - $189,625.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
