Full Job Description
This position will be responsible for overseeing and assisting the General Manger and Senior Vice President of People Services in effectively managing and leading in the areas of recruitment & selection, performance management, succession planning, training, employee relations, employment retention, legislation, policies & procedures and health & safety. This role will also be responsible for leading and supporting Arlo Culture for all team members. This role will be a multi-property role supporting three (3) Manhattan Hotels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uses judgment supported by human resource acumen and practical experience
  • Leads the delivery of human resource policies, practices and programs.
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection function for all hourly and some management positions.
  • Ambassador for recruitment and retention strategy with Arlo Hotels; analyze and manage ATS program.
  • Works directly with the Director of Learning and Development in the administration of the training and development program.
  • Strategizes with leadership on various programs/trainings needed for continued growth of the team and overall experience. Cultural Training, Health and Safety Training all other related training programs
  • Works with SVP of People Services to ensure all brand wide initiatives are executed and applied to Arlo NYC: Employee Relations & Recognition, Brand Employee Surveys, Events, EDI Initiatives.
  • Works with Area Director of People Services and General Manager in any employee concerns; progressive discipline and general employee conduct. Applying all local and federal laws and strategy.
  • Assisting in Management of Benefits and 401K Program with Prestige & SVP of People Services.
  • Assists the Health and Safety Program: in compliance with applicable Health & Safety legislation laws, First Aid and spearheads Safety Committee.
  • Assists in conducting regular wage/salary reviews and local surveys to ensure hotels are remaining competitive in the market.
  • Provide guidance to management on needs within their department and team members in conjunction with Arlo brand standards.
  • Assists managers in facilitation with specific training needs within their department.
  • Assists Leadership team in maintaining an open door policy for all team members.
  • Establishes and maintains confidential employee files, maintains accuracy and integrity
  • With the Leadership Team champions the Employee Engagement Survey (EES) process, interprets the results, and supports the development and implementation of action plans.
  • Brand Ambassador for Arlo Hotels and truly embodies and lives the Arlo Culture.
  • Employee Relations- Leads in planning of employee events, recognition programs ( manager/team member program) annual seasonal events and celebratory moments for all team members.
  • Work in conjunction with People Services team members from other Arlo properties to ensure that Arlo HR acumen is up to date and forward thinking in its approach.
  • Ability to manage and have presence on property weekly to maintain relationships with all team members to support in progression and retention.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.


Requirements:

  • 5 + years' experience in Human Resources Manager capacity in hotel or related industry
  • Multi-Property Experience an asset
  • University/ College Bachelor's Degree
  • Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources Management
  • Service focused, understands the principles and processes required for providing exceptional, personal service in a timely manner
  • Working knowledge of all human resources disciplines (benefits, compensation, training, recruitment, performance management, employee relations).
  • Knowledge of and practical experience with relevant state/federal employment standards.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organization
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.


Salary Range: $110,000 - $115,000 per annum
