Position Summary Varmoda is seeking a skilled
Application Development Associate to support the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise web and mobile applications. This role will contribute to mission-critical business applications by developing new functionality, enhancing existing solutions, and providing reliable production support. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and SQL, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, business analysts, and development teams to deliver scalable and high-performing applications.
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and implement new application functionality and enhancements for enterprise applications.
- Provide production support, including issue analysis, troubleshooting, bug fixes, testing, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with Application Architects, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to validate functional and technical requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, design artifacts, and development standards.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient, maintainable software solutions.
- Code, test, debug, and maintain simple to moderately complex application modules.
- Ensure software solutions meet quality, security, performance, and scalability requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and system testing activities.
- Support application upgrades, modernization efforts, and ongoing system improvements.
- Apply industry best practices and technical expertise to development and support activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to coding standards, development processes, and application performance.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and operational stability.
Required Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services using Spring Boot.
- Minimum 5 years of experience building responsive, single-page applications using Angular.
- Minimum 5 years of experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for relational database environments.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and enterprise application development.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting business-critical software applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting application deployments and production environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and DevOps practices.
- Experience using Git or other version control tools.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and application performance optimization techniques.
- Experience supporting child support, case management, eligibility, benefits administration, or similar government-focused applications.
- Experience developing or supporting mobile applications.
- Experience working within public-sector, healthcare, human services, or regulated business environments.
Preferred Certifications - Oracle Java Certification.
- Spring Professional Certification.
- Angular Developer Certification.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
- AWS, Azure, or cloud development certifications.
- DevOps-related certifications.
