Analyst, Technology, Investment Banking -San FranciscoIs this role right for you?Global Banking and Markets (GBM) provides a full range of credit, risk management and investment banking products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include investment banking, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, debt products, derivatives, foreign currencies, and commodities. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by Scotiabank.
Analysts in the Global Technology Investment Banking Group enjoy a stimulating and challenging work environment in which they execute a broad range of transactions. A high degree of responsibility is afforded to those demonstrating initiative and the desire to take on such responsibility.
Given the Global Technology Investment Banking Group's streamlined operating hierarchy and a small project team approach, Analysts have ample opportunity for career growth and development. On any given project, Analysts will interact with other departments of the firm such as Corporate Banking, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Global Fixed Income, and Global Equity Derivatives.
What will my responsibilities look like?- Generally supporting client pitches and deal execution efforts
- Evaluating and analyzing the financial needs of corporate clients, including the development of financial models, marketing materials and presentations
- Financial and written analysis of companies and industries, including the development of valuation models, pro-forma financial statements and comparable company analysis, etc.
- Sourcing the data required to perform financial analysis
- Drafting prospectuses and marketing presentations for transactions
- Preparing client presentations
- Applying product and capital markets knowledge to help clients achieve their financial objectives.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if:- You have an undergraduate or graduate Degree in Business, Finance, Science, Technology, Engineering, Economics or Mathematics discipline or related fields to be completed between December 2025 and July 2026
- You have a demonstrated interest and knowledge of the financial markets
- You have a proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work
- You have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- You work seamlessly within MS Office Suite with expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
- You have strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting, and financial theory
- You are a team player with strong interpersonal skills
