Contributes to the overall success of the Global Technology & Engineering Platform Services in Canada and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures that all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Data Engineer Senior Manager (Governance Compliance) supports the bank's technology risk and compliance objectives by analyzing vulnerability data, monitoring remediation progress, producing reporting and dashboards, and helping drive timely resolution of infrastructure and application security issues in accordance with internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Oversee vulnerability and patching cadences for infrastructure and application servers.
• Oversees the Vulnerability Escalation process ensures that SLAs are adhered to in accordance with documented processes.
• Collection and Analysis of Critical Application Assets remediation efforts.
• Analyze vulnerability and remediation data to produce dashboards and management reports.
• Identifying and articulating the means to resolution / remediation of servers as part of the contribution to BNS Security Risk Index scores.
• Generating reports attesting to remediation findings.
• Generating detailed tracking reports of server assets that exceed defined BNS policy thresholds.
• Identify IT and Business owner mappings to server assets.
• Ensures effective management of Vulnerability SQL Server Reporting databases.
• Ensures the Configuration and maintenance of Vulnerability Reporting database servers and processes.
• Ensures effective Monitoring of the SQL Server Reporting database health and performance ensuring high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security.
• Analyzing, solving and correcting SQL Server Reporting databases issues. Providing suggestions for solutions.
• Manages the Development of ETL process using MS SQL and SSIS, refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes.
• Collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams and Technology partners to advance remediation activities.
• Contribute to and be a part of a collaborative team environment.
• Review performance reports, assist with the weekly, monthly reporting and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Develop and produce process documentation and ensure that all processes are documented.
• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in database administration or in a similar role.

• Strong people management and time management abilities
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment.
• Advanced ability to analyze data and assess vulnerabilities in infrastructure (software, hardware, networks)
• Advanced Experience in Vulnerability Management Tool sets (Tenable) equating to a strong working knowledge of information security principles and security operations
• Advanced Technical Portfolio Management and follow up skills
• Advanced Excel Skills
• Advanced PowerPoint and presentation skills
• Strong ServiceNow knowledge [ticketing tools]
• Strong Power BI knowledge and experience
• Highly familiar with Network and Operational System version and protocols (all O/S) Technical Background
• Highly familiar with or experienced in Vulnerability Management/Cybersecurity & Server compliance
• Exacting in following procedural documents
• Able to work in both independent and team environment.
