How You’ll Succeed

You will be accountable for the following core responsibilities, with support and guidance from senior team members:

Contribute to building a global, diversified client base of funding liquidity providers (banks, pension funds, asset managers).

  • Learn to enhance internal funding capabilities and risk policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, including Tax, Accounting, Compliance, Legal, Technology, and others.

  • Support senior leaders in establishing and refining funding processes, promoting transparent allocation of resources, and developing models for benefit/cost allocation to GM (FTP framework).

  • Participate in projects to enhance funding capabilities through the Bank’s Change Initiative Risk Assessment (CIRA) and Capital Markets Operating Committee (CMOC).

  • Promote transparency and collaboration with partners in Capital Markets Risk and Treasury.

  • Operate within CIBC’s corporate governance standards to help ensure all potential risks are addressed and legal/reputational and shareholder objectives are met.

  • Contribute to optimizing Tri-Party platform efficiency, support technology requirements for collateral allocation, and help ensure accurate liquidity reporting to Treasury.

  • Assist in managing ABCP/conduit funding within Treasury’s liquidity framework.

  • Support the monitoring of Liquidity/Credit Risk Limits for CFG.

  • Assist in managing cross-currency and interest rate risk.

  • Help manage SPX Box Trades, ensuring accurate administration, monitoring, and reporting as part of the overall funding portfolio.

  • Support efforts to mitigate contingent funding risk.

  • Coordinate with asset management teams to optimize assets for all collateral purposes.

  • Ensure accurate booking and pricing economics for financing transactions, with guidance from senior team members.

  • Act as a point of contact for PSG on client financing needs and provide financing axes to Securities Lending/GCF, with support from your team.

  • Collaborate with teams across Global Markets to improve data analytics, resource reporting, and infrastructure projects, while developing your own analytical and technical skills.

Who You Are

  • Knowledge of funding markets, strategies, and opportunities across asset classes, such as Prime Brokerage and Structured Credit.

  • Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills; ability to analyze large and complex data sets.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.

  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable liaising with various teams and stakeholders across business lines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.

  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, integrity, and accountability.
