Job Title: AE Defense Life Cycle Engineer

Working Pattern: Full time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN./Hybrid (3 days onsite on avg.)

Position Summary

As the AE Defense Life Cycle Service Engineer, you will provide reactive technical support for in-service events and proactive analysis to eliminate future customer disruption in connection with Rolls-Royce products. You will lead cross functional teams to determine root cause of in-service events. Using expertise and best practices in root cause analysis and in conjunction with teams consisting of component design, materials engineering, deployed services, and program personnel, you will achieve timely resolution of customer issues. This role will also proactively identify threats and take steps to eliminate them before they cause events in the field. To do this, you will apply your knowledge of the propulsion system along with data analytics tools to uncover trends in our fleet.

What you will be doing

• Engaging with customers to understand how Rolls-Royce products are used in service and devising technical solutions to their needs.
• Lead internal activities to resolve OEM, AMC, operator or FSR technical inquiries
• Lead investigations and identify root cause and corrective action for in-service events
• Support of field control programs that address identified or potential safety concerns.
• Participation in product level safety boards and in-service reviews with regulatory and airworthiness authorities.
• Initiating changes to technical publications associated with in-service hardware maintenance and ensuring appropriate hardware management.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 1+ years of experience or
• Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
• JD/PhD
• To be considered for this position, you must be U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

• Previous experience conducting complex root cause analysis
• Previous experience interfacing with military customers
