The Opportunity

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an enthusiastic Account Executive, Government to join our National Sales Team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with government customers, public sector buyers, military and defense-related accounts, hotel sales, regional leadership, revenue management, commercial strategy, and analytics partners to deepen customer relationships, develop new revenue opportunities, and drive preference for Hyatt hotels across the government segment. You will be instrumental in continuing to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company. The Role

The Account Lead, Government is a strategic vertical sales role responsible for both business development and account management across the government segment. This role manages a portfolio of government and public sector accounts while identifying, qualifying, and developing new opportunities with federal, state, military, defense, contractor, and related entities that can drive compliant and profitable demand for Hyatt hotels. The Account Lead will establish and execute account plans focused on total account revenue growth, including group, transient, extended stay, project-based, relocation, training, and meeting business, for Hyatt hotels globally.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of government accounts while developing new business opportunities within the vertical.
• Build and maintain deep account intelligence, including key buyers, procurement contacts, travel managers, influencers, contract requirements, sourcing behavior, travel patterns, business potential, competitive set, and next steps.
• Develop and execute account plans that support revenue growth across government transient, group, extended stay, training, relocation, project-based, and meeting business.
• Prospect and qualify new federal, state, military, defense, government contractor, public sector, and related accounts with potential for Hyatt hotels.
• Educate government buyers on Hyatt brands, hotel capabilities, location fit, service standards, security considerations, and solutions relevant to their business needs.
• Support Hyatt inclusion in relevant government sourcing opportunities, RFPs, bids, lodging programs, meetings, trainings, and project-based travel needs.
• Partner with hotel sales teams, operators, revenue management, legal/compliance, and commercial stakeholders to align customer needs with hotel priorities and applicable requirements.
• Support customer negotiations, hotel communication, rate discussions, and opportunity follow-up with urgency, accuracy, discretion, and strong attention to detail.
• Stay current on government travel trends, per diem considerations, procurement cycles, agency priorities, market conditions, forecasts, and competitive intelligence.
• Use CRM, sourcing platforms, analytics, and industry tools to document activity, prioritize opportunities, and measure account performance.
• Champion Hyatt initiatives and priorities with government customers as appropriate, including new hotel openings, focus hotels, Essentials brands, and special initiatives.
• Elevate the voice of the government customer within Hyatt and participate in cross-functional projects that support National Sales priorities.

Qualifications:
Experience Required:
• Minimum 5 years of hotel sales, hospitality sales, account management, government sales, public sector sales, or related commercial experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with government, public sector, military, defense, government contractor, association, or related accounts.
• Strong understanding of government market dynamics, including procurement considerations, RFP processes, per diem sensitivity, travel patterns, compliance expectations, buyer requirements, and service needs.
• Strong sales knowledge and business development experience across transient, group, extended stay, training, relocation, project-based, and/or meeting business.
• Proven ability to manage a portfolio of accounts while also developing new business opportunities.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship-building, and follow-through skills.
• Detailed organization skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, priorities, opportunities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM and/or database management tools.
• Knowledge of customer sourcing, RFP, booking, procurement, or travel management tools used in government, public sector, or hotel sales environments.
• Experience with industry data tools such as Knowland Group, Amadeus Hotelligence Suite, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar platforms.

Experience Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Sales, Business, Public Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Existing relationships within government, public sector, military, defense, government contractor, or related verticals.
• Multi-hotel and/or multi-brand sales experience.
• Previous total account, strategic account, or vertical account management experience.

The salary range for this position is $98,600 - $128,000 . This position is also eligible to earn incentive awards, an annual bonus, monthly or quarterly incentives, etc.

The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level, and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
