Macmillan Publishers is a global trade book publishing company headquartered in New York City. It is a subsidiary of Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, a German company that owns a range of publishing houses. Macmillan publishes books in the United States through its subsidiaries St. Martin's Press and Tor/Forge. It also distributes books published by Bloomsbury and Rodale Press. Macmillan Publishers was founded in 1843 by Daniel and Alexander Macmillan.
