DescriptionWelding Engineer IIIWe're seeking a Welding Engineer III to support the advanced planning contract for the refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). This position is 100% on-site in Newport News, VA.
The RoleDevelops, analyzes, researches, and designs welding techniques, procedures, and applications. Uses engineering principles to manipulate materials for fabrication and assembly processes. Prepares technical documentation in order to implement waterfront welding processes including specifications, analyses, standards, and restrictions. Creates new or modifies current welding methods, techniques, and procedures in order to substantiate welding theories.
Must HaveBachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience;
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Target Salary Range$115,000 - $140,000
