Overview

The VP, Content is the senior content lead for a CPG portfolio account, responsible for developing and executing content and experiential partnerships that drive business results across food, beverage, pet, and snacking brands.

This leader brings deep experience in branded content, media partnerships, creator and influencer marketing, entertainment integrations, sponsorships, and consumer engagement programs. They can shape strategy, lead senior client conversations, develop talent, manage commercial performance, and oversee complex execution.

The role requires a highly collaborative operator who can align strategy, investment, analytics, creative, account management, media partners, and clients before recommendations reach the client.

Responsibilities

Client leadership

  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and senior agency leaders.


  • Translate business objectives into scalable content, partnership, and creator strategies.


  • Present recommendations, innovation opportunities, and annual planning frameworks to senior clients.


  • Lead senior conversations across branded content, sponsorships, creators, influencers, entertainment, and media partnerships.


Content partnerships and innovation

  • Oversee custom content partnerships, creator programs, experiential activations, sponsorships, and branded entertainment.


  • Maintain senior relationships with publishers, platforms, creators, talent agencies, sports properties, entertainment companies, and content partners.


  • Evaluate marketplace opportunities and negotiate strategic value, added value, and first-to-market programs aligned to client priorities.


Team leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of content supervisors.


  • Support career growth, capability building, and succession planning.


  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, curiosity, and excellence.


Cross-functional integration

  • Collaborate closely with strategy, investment, analytics, PR, shopper, social, creative, and account teams.


  • Ensure content recommendations are integrated into brand strategy, media planning, measurement, and commercial realities.


  • Lead partnership planning and execution across stakeholder groups.


Qualifications

  • 8-12+ years of experience in branded content, integrated marketing, partnerships, influencer marketing, media, or communications.


  • Experience leading large client relationships within an agency, media company, publisher, platform, or brand environment.


  • Deep understanding of media partnerships, content strategy, creator marketing, and branded storytelling.


  • Demonstrated ability to build and sell strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.


  • Strong commercial acumen, including forecasting, staffing, scoping, and financial management.


  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.


  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.


  • Passion for culture, content, consumer behavior, and emerging media trends.

Compensation Range: USD $159,695.00 - USD $255,645.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
