Your role
UBS is seeking an intellectually curious and analytically driven individual to join our US Rates Strategy team. This role sits at the intersection of markets, economics, and quantitative analysis, with responsibility for translating complex data into clear, compelling insights to inform clients and internal stakeholders. In this role, you will:
• Produce timely, high-quality research notes and strategy pieces on US rates markets, covering a broad range of topics including Treasury supply and demand dynamics, market structure, positioning, technicals, and yield curve analysis
• Build and maintain quantitative models to analyze interest rate dynamics and support trade recommendations
• Collaborate closely with sales, trading, and other research desks to ensure strategy content is relevant, well-distributed, and effectively communicated to clients
• Monitor and respond to developments in US and global macro markets with well-reasoned, clearly communicated analysis
Your team
• You will be joining our Global Research team in New York, NY, working alongside the Head of US Rates Strategy. Our team delivers high-quality, differentiated research that helps clients make informed investment decisions. We value intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.
Your expertise
• ideally 3+ years of experience in macro markets (sales/trading/research), or a closely related field
• Deep knowledge of US interest rate markets
• Strong quantitative skills, including comfort with statistical analysis, data manipulation, and financial modeling
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills - you can translate technical analysis into clear, concise prose for a sophisticated audience
• Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, mathematics, or a related field
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with programming languages is preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
• You're curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment - validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
Salary information
The indicative gross base salary range as a full-time equivalent role:
• United States - New York - New York min USD 158750 - max USD 186250 /annum
