Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a Transition Manager. The qualified candidate will have overall accountability for delivery of the Successful Respondent's Contract Transition from contract execution through commencement of Services, and through completion and DIR Acceptance of all Transition Deliverables.

The Transition Director will lead the transition from the incumbent provider to Peraton, ensuring that all transition activities, deliverables, readiness assessments, inventories, service management processes, and operational requirements are completed and formally accepted by DIR.

Candidates must be located in Austin, TX metropolitan area, or San Angelo, TX as applicable willing to relocate to the Austin, TX metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain overall accountability for the full contract transition from the incumbent provider to Peraton.
  • Develop, manage, execute, and obtain DIR acceptance of the Transition Project Plan.
  • Lead delivery of the Operational Readiness Assessment and obtain DIR acceptance.
  • Coordinate transition activities across all service towers.
  • Lead CMDB baselining, auto-discovery, and inventory validation activities.
  • Develop and execute parallel-run planning to ensure SLA attainment beginning in Month 1.
  • Coordinate with the Managed Services Integrator (MSI) on transition integration requirements.
  • Manage all transition deliverables through formal DIR acceptance.
  • Establish and maintain transition schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate transition activities across compute, storage, network, facilities, and other applicable service areas.
  • Ensure transition activities support operational readiness and a successful commencement of Services.
  • Maintain accountability for transition deliverables through completion and formal customer acceptance.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience, may have supervisory or lead experience
  • 8+ years of experience managing large-scale IT contract transitions from incumbent service providers.
  • Demonstrated experience transitioning data center managed services environments, including:
    • Compute
    • Storage
    • Network
    • Facilities
  • Experience delivering formal transition deliverables to government clients with defined acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow CMDB, asset discovery tools, and configuration management processes.
  • Experience coordinating transitions within MSI/multi-vendor government IT environments.
  • Strong program management and risk mitigation skills in complex transition scenarios.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex transition schedules, dependencies, risks, issues, and deliverables.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across technical, operational, government, and vendor organizations.
  • Prior Texas DIR or comparable state government IT contract transition experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP certification
  • ITIL Foundation Certification


Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
