Full Job Description

This position reports to:

Electrical Testing Manager

In this role you will be responsible for supervising a shift team's progress against work plans as defined by production management to ensure the proper use of machinery, equipment, and assembly lines within the production and testing areas. Cooperate with the unit supervisor to create an effective work environment and reinforce production schedules and quality in Electrification Services (ELSE) in Florence, SC.

Your Responsibilities:

Shift monitoring:

  • Assists management and shift team in allocating, coordinating, and overseeing shift orders and work plan execution within production lines during the shift.
  • Monitors test execution progress and ensures adherence to test schedules.

Organization:

  • Provides regular feedback and makes recommendations to management regarding issues within the production line, including production line organization, shifting priorities and possible critical situations.
  • Reports on test quality issues, delays, or technical challenges.

Staff:

  • Helps management implement staff movements in case of vacations, illnesses, machine outages or shifting priorities.
  • Ensures adequate technician training on testing procedures and equipment.

Cooperation:

  • Serves as leader during shifts to oversee cooperation and the resolution of technical/quality problems and logistic issues.
  • Coordinates between test technicians, engineers, and other departments.

Your Background:

  • High school diploma plus 5 or more years of related experience in basic technical skills. Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting engineering configuration and wiring drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret Engineering configuration and wiring drawings.
  • Requires ability to determine actions within limits defined by test equipment practices and procedures, and to select, reduce and summarize pertinent test data.
  • Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, recommend repair and modifications.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Calibrate tools, records and analyze data.
  • Must be able to read, speak and write English.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
