Position Description: We are seeking a Technical Project Manager / Senior Technical Engineer to lead the CGI delivery of complex technical initiatives while providing senior technical leadership across multiple technical domains. This role is responsible for managing project scope, schedules, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder coordination while guiding the design, implementation, modernization, and operation of secure, scalable, resilient, and high performing technology solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in technical project delivery, enterprise infrastructure, production operations, cloud and on premises environments, platform engineering, automation, observability, and incident management. This position requires the ability to lead cross functional teams, oversee mission critical systems and services, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and support modernization efforts across enterprise platforms and applications.
This position is located in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Your future duties and responsibilities: Lead the delivery of complex technical workstreams across cross functional teams.
Manage project scope, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, resources, and status reporting.
Serve as a senior technical engineering lead across infrastructure, platforms, DevOps, cloud services, and systems operations.
Establish and promote engineering standards for system availability, performance, scalability, security, resiliency, maintainability, and operational readiness.
Lead or coordinate incident response, service restoration, technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
Drive improvements in monitoring, alerting, logging, observability, configuration management, and automation.
Oversee the operational health, capacity, performance, recoverability, and lifecycle management of platforms, systems, and services.
Partner with application engineering, infrastructure, platform, cloud, cybersecurity, networking, database, and operations teams to achieve successful delivery and operational outcomes.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, operational procedures, engineering standards, and governance processes.
Support modernization efforts involving cloud platforms, container technologies, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated operations.
Evaluate technical requirements, solution designs, implementation plans, and operational impacts.
Identify technical debt, infrastructure constraints, operational risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Communicate project status, technical risks, operational issues, remediation strategies, and engineering priorities to leadership and stakeholders.
Mentor technical staff and promote best practices in engineering, delivery management, systems operations, and operational excellence.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
10+ years of relevant experience in technical project management, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, systems engineering, systems operations, related or technical leadership roles.
Demonstrated experience leading the delivery of complex technical or enterprise technology initiatives.
Strong background in enterprise infrastructure, platform technologies, production operations, and service performance management.
Experience designing, implementing, integrating, supporting, or modernizing complex technical environments.
Experience with incident management, technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, change management, and operational governance.
Experience with cloud technologies, container platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code.
Strong understanding of monitoring, observability, alerting, logging, capacity management, and performance optimization.
Working knowledge of enterprise systems, networking, compute, storage, virtualization, operating systems, middleware, or related infrastructure components.
Experience managing project risks, dependencies, schedules, technical deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
Ability to translate business and operational requirements into practical technical solutions and implementation plans.
Ability to lead cross functional technical teams in complex, fast paced environments.
Strong analytical, problem solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure modernization, platform transformation, cloud migration, or digital transformation programs.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, or other iterative delivery methodologies.
Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, backup and recovery, and capacity planning.
Experience working in hybrid, multicloud, cloud, or on premises enterprise environments.
Experience with configuration management, systems administration, network operations, database platforms, or enterprise middleware.
Understanding of cybersecurity, identity and access management, vulnerability management, compliance, and secure engineering practices.
Relevant certifications in project management, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, DevOps, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, or systems engineering.
Experience supporting federal or regulated environments, if applicable.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $114,800.00 $223,200.00.
