Client Delivery within Global Wealth Management Technology is looking for a Technical Business Lead Analyst who is responsible for the requirements and documentation of user stories. This team is engaged in modernization some of the strategic applications in GWMT. This role will be responsible for delivering a modern suite of apps for one of the wealth business lines, replacing a legacy system with a modern user interface, workflows and APIs integrating with multiple internal and external applications. Applications interfacing are a mix of inhouse and third-party applications. Reporting to the Senior Manager Development, the Technical Business Lead Analyst will be responsible for supporting key activities for Client Delivery initiatives. You will be working closely with product owner, Solution Architect, Developers and other SMEs. You will be contributing to the development of world-class digital products and experiences for Scotiabank and it's customers. Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Assist team in resolving highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the needs of Projects and Compliance, by applying their financial and technological knowledge to the design of methodologies, models, and/or systems solutions.
  • Conducting research and analysis, accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes, and liaising with the users.
  • Working closely with product owner on business side to iron out user stories and maintain a healthy backlog for prioritization
  • Participate in the systems implementation process by developing test cases, performing testing, defining user procedures and workflows, developing conversion and implementation strategies, verifying conversion, providing user documentation, providing user training, and providing post-implementation support.
  • Provide business support to Operations and Compliance group, including ad hoc queries, user training, and assisting with the design and implementation of systems enhancements.
  • Actively communicate with management, and update on cases and/or issues that escalated appropriately.
  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions and services to the end user groups.

  • Experience of handling requirement of application using APIs, Batch process and Reporting servers.
  • Seeking someone creative, self starting, results-oriented, and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills to apply this knowledge to assist in the resolution of complex business problems.
  • Posses very good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with end users and members of a project team. The incumbent is expected to use diplomacy, judgement, and persuasion to secure agreement and co-operation from departments involved in a project.
  • Well-versed with current IT practices, systems development techniques, including requirements specification and testing methodologies, real-time analytical and formal modelling tools, and keep current with rapidly changing technology to effectively apply technology to the solution of a business problem. This knowledge should be also applied to assist the Director or Sr. Manager in establishing future technological directions for the area.
  • A recognized under-graduate degree in business, mathematics, computer science or a related discipline.
  • Viewpoint is required to assess the impact of development and/or changes to the overall data processing environment.
  • Prior experience in wealth and or Lending products.
  • Well versed with various financial product offerings in Canadian lending market.
  • Customer first mindset while providing technology solutions to business problems.
  • Working knowledge of Agile development skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Solid knowledge of SQL, NOSQL JIRA, Confluence
