Description & Requirements Important Note: This team works onsite at EA Vancouver (Burnaby office). Applicants are required to work onsite 3 days, Tuesday - Thursday every week.Your Responsibilities: The Technical Artist is a bridge between the artists and engineers. TAs (Technical Artists) are considered part of the Core FC development team and work closely with artists, project managers, and Software Engineers. The main areas of responsibilities include art production workflows, tools, pipelines, asset optimization/integration and shader development. TAs are expected to assume ownership over any technical issues that arise on their project and bring them to resolution. You can be from an Art, Design, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science background; however you must demonstrate a comfort level in working with both art and programming. Technical Artists report to Technical Art Directors or Development Directors on the EA SPORTS team.
We are looking for an experienced Technical Artist to develop new and existing experiences on EA SPORTS FC. Depending on the required skillsets, there may be exciting opportunities to work on new features and game modes. The ideal candidate would have experience working in game engines and driving feature development. Experience working with schematic-based development and environment creation is a plus.
Your Qualifications: - At least 3 years of cinematic/games production experience.
- Game engine experience in environment creation is preferred.
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field is desired.
- Effective at communicating with different audiences: artists, engineers, managers.
- Extensive experience scripting/programming in python and C#. (C++ is a bonus, but is not required).
- Knowledge of 3D art packages (Maya).
- A solutions-provider, particularly as it pertains to testing and debugging technical issues.
- A willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems; the ability to think creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations.

Pay Transparency - North AmericaCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$104,500 - $142,800 CAD
