Job DescriptionTechnical Accounting Senior ManagerLocation: Dallas, TexasYour RoleAs the Technical Accounting Senior Manager, you will support the Senior Director, Technical Accounting and Reporting in leading technical accounting, accounting policy, and external reporting activities. You will help ensure accurate financial reporting and partner with finance, tax, legal, treasury, FP&A, and business leaders to evaluate the accounting impact of complex transactions.
What you'll do- Research and analyze complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, debt and equity transactions, and financial instruments.
- Prepare technical accounting memoranda, accounting analyses, and position papers that support accounting conclusions.
- Evaluate new accounting standards and support implementation efforts across the organization.
- Serve as a technical accounting resource for business, finance, and global stakeholders to ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
- Support preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements and SEC filings.
- Prepare external reporting disclosures and supporting schedules, including cash flow, footnotes, and MD&A disclosures.
- Assist with earnings release support materials, management reporting, and external auditor requests.
- Help develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls related to technical accounting and reporting.
- Partner with finance, legal, tax, treasury, FP&A, operations, and business leaders on strategic transactions and special projects.
- Identify opportunities to automate, improve, and scale technical accounting and reporting processes while supporting best practices for efficiency and compliance.
What you'll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation required.
- 5-8+ years of experience in accounting and/or external reporting, preferably with a publicly traded company or public accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and accounting research methodologies.
- Experience preparing technical accounting analyses, accounting memoranda, and position papers.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
