Full Job Description
Lonza is currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer Level 2 to join their team in Portsmouth, NH.

POSITION: Systems Engineer Level 2

JOB LOCATION: 101 International Drive, Portsmouth, NH 03801 [& various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may telecommute]

DUTIES: Recognize potential issues or technical problems and solve these under guidance of supervisor. Assist with the planning and execution of plant projects involving computerized infrastructure changes in process improvement. Provide infrastructure support including servers, networks, workstations, storage and client devices for Automation, Business Analytics, Quality Control, and any other information systems used to support operations. Maintain system integrity and identify performance and security improvements. Utilize colleagues, system documentation, and support contracts to solve complex problems. Participate in an on-call rotation to provide afterhours support to resolve issues outside of normal business hours. Contribute to design of new applications and solutions. Execute test scripts (design, execution, simulation, etc.) with support and guidance from supervisor. Own change requests and participate in all aspects of the change control system. Assist the quality department with deviation investigations. Participate in RCAs as Operations Information Systems (OIS) representative. Review and revise OIS and manufacturing related, SOP's, functional specifications, and work instructions, as a result of CAPA, equipment/process changes, error prevention activities, etc. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Outlook, Word and Excel. Develop technical documentation for networks and information systems. Utilize servers, storage, network and related infrastructure fundamentals. Utilize operating systems: Windows and Linux. Utilize Symantec Ghost, Acronis. Utilize VB Script, .Net, and SQL. Utilize Cisco and 3Com network switching and network monitoring utilities. Utilize Citrix Metaframe or Microsoft Terminal Services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience in a related occupation utilizing Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Outlook, Word and Excel; developing technical documentation for networks and information systems; utilizing servers, storage, network and related infrastructure fundamentals; utilizing operating systems: Windows and Linux; utilizing Symantec Ghost, Acronis; utilizing VB Script, .Net, and SQL; utilizing Cisco and 3Com network switching and network monitoring utilities; and utilizing Citrix Metaframe or Microsoft Terminal Services.
