Location: Remote in California

Description:
Impresiv Health is seeking a Systems Database Administrator to support a healthcare organization's enterprise database environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, performance, availability, and recoverability of databases, database servers, and related systems.

The Systems Database Administrator will install, configure, secure, maintain, and optimize database servers, databases, related objects, and supporting software. This position will also play a key role in database security, backup and recovery, capacity planning, data governance, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with application development teams.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide technical management and support for enterprise database environments to maintain database security, integrity, performance, availability, and recoverability.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and periodically test backup and recovery plans for critical production databases to support business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
  • Maintain database security by managing authentication, authorization, user access, and database activity auditing.
  • Conduct database security and user access audits to support HIP nd other applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor database servers and system resources to ensure production environments meet established performance and availability standards.
  • Install, test, secure, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain database software and associated applications.
  • Perform short-term and long-term storage and capacity planning to ensure adequate resources are available across database environments.
  • Develop and maintain database architecture and technical documentation, including installation and configuration procedures, data governance standards, change control and deployment procedures, and SQL coding guidelines.
  • Partner with application development teams to ensure SQL code is appropriately designed, optimized, tested, and validated prior to production deployment.
  • Support database environments across production, development, testing, and other applicable environments.
  • Perform additional related responsibilities as assigned.

  • You can manage multiple database environments while maintaining appropriate security, governance, documentation, and change control standards.

  • You can create and maintain clear technical documentation, including source code documentation, installation procedures, technical specifications, and data governance standards.
  • You communicate technical information clearly and concisely with internal departments, technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.
  • You can effectively prioritize competing responsibilities and complete assignments accurately within established deadlines.

What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, coursework, and professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Database Administrator within a Microsoft SQL Server environment using versions currently supported by Microsoft.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience maintaining multiple database environments supporting production, development, and testing systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing database security, database tuning, query optimization, and application code deployment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with SQL scripting and command shell scripting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with one or more applicable programming languages or platforms, such as .NET, PERL, Java, SAS, VB, C++, or another modern programming language or related technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence technologies, including SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS, or comparable enterprise business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience maintaining a data warehouse database environment, including managing and enforcing data governance standards and coding best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain technical documentation, source code documentation, application installation procedures, technical specifications, and data governance documentation.
  • Working knowledge of applicable business and productivity software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies, procedures, security requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities safely and responsibly.

Preferred Qualification:
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification or comparable Microsoft database certification.
