Job Description:

RN Manager Operating Room

The Nurse Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations, staffing, resources, quality, safety, and financial performance of assigned department(s). For Operating Room/Surgical Services areas, this role provides leadership and oversight of perioperative operations to support safe, effective, efficient, and patient-centered surgical care. Responsibilities include promoting evidence-based perioperative practice, maintaining regulatory and accreditation readiness, supporting staff competency and development, monitoring operational and quality metrics, and collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, sterile processing, nursing staff, and support departments to improve care delivery, patient throughput, and departmental performance.

  • Supervises nursing care and perioperative services, ensuring compliance with nursing practice standards, evidence-based perioperative practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Assesses unit activities, including nursing and medical plan of care to ensure quality of patient care is delivered.
  • Maintains adequate staffing levels to promote safe, efficient patient care.

Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required
  • Five years clinical experience and successful performances
  • Current licensure recognized by the Kentucky Stat Board of Nursing
  • BLS from AHA required within 90 days of hire.
