The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining supplier quality training programs to ensure SQE personnel possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to effectively manage supplier quality performance, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and supply chain quality assurance activities. This role serves as a subject matter expert and mentor, promoting standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement across the Supplier Quality organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver training programs for Supplier Quality Engineers, including onboarding, qualification, and recurring competency assessments.
  • Train SQEs on AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102, AS6171, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, work instructions, process guides, checklists, and reference documentation.
  • Mentor and coach SQEs on supplier audits, supplier assessments, risk-based thinking, and supplier development activities.
  • Train personnel on supplier corrective action processes (SCARs), root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, RCCA), and effectiveness verification.
  • Provide instruction on supplier performance monitoring, KPI analysis, scorecard management, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Lead hands-on training for supplier qualification, source inspections, First Article Inspection (AS9102), process validation, and special process oversight.
  • Standardize SQE practices and ensure consistent application of company procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Facilitate workshops on counterfeit parts prevention, traceability, configuration management, and supplier risk management.
  • Support audit readiness by training personnel to effectively participate in customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, observations, performance metrics, and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Identify competency gaps and develop targeted training plans to improve supplier quality performance.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality leadership to continuously enhance SQE processes and training programs.
  • Support the implementation of lessons learned, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Supplier Quality organization.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related aerospace/defense industry roles.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting supplier audits, supplier development activities, and corrective action investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102, FAA regulations, and aerospace quality requirements.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training programs to engineering and quality personnel.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis, problem-solving methodologies, risk assessment, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and technical data packages.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work across multiple functions and supplier environments.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office applications, and quality data analysis tools.


Preferred Qualifications
  • AS9100 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience supporting FAA, DCMA, OEM, and customer audits.
  • Experience training and mentoring quality professionals in a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

Salary Range:
$77,900.00-$103,800.000
