Responsibilities

Responsibilities

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Field Services Team Leader to join our Chantilly team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading field operations, ensuring technical excellence, maintaining a strong safety culture, and supporting the continued growth of the department.

Leadership & Operations
  • Supervise and lead a team of fireproofing, firestopping, and structural steel technicians.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the team while considering financial performance, productivity, and project requirements.
  • Assist with field scheduling operations to ensure adequate staffing and efficient resource utilization.
  • Work with recruiting and management to maintain appropriate staffing levels through hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts.
  • Mentor, train, and develop junior field personnel to support career growth and technical competency.


Safety & Equipment Management
  • Promote safety and a strong safety culture throughout all operations.
  • Ensure proper PPE is utilized on project sites and assist with company-required safety training.
  • Maintain, organize, and calibrate field equipment.
  • Manage calibration schedules, records, and documentation to ensure compliance and operational readiness.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory and organization of required supplies and equipment.


Field Activities
  • Perform field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection activities as needed.
  • Conduct structural steel inspections and evaluations in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Support fireproofing and firestopping inspection activities as required.
  • Assist with construction materials testing and related field services as needed.
  • May manage construction materials testing projects.


Communication & Administration
  • Maintain daily communication with technicians, project managers, clients, and general contractors.
  • Utilize electronic devices and software platforms for data entry, report preparation, and document management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of daily field reports and project documentation.
  • Provide assistance to Project Managers, Department Managers, and other leadership staff as needed.
  • Assist with administrative duties related to field operations, personnel management, and project execution.
  • Attend project meetings and client meetings as requested.


Business Development & Client Relations
  • Participate in business development, marketing, and client development activities.
  • Support client relationship management through responsive communication and technical expertise.
  • Identify opportunities for service expansion and assist with proposal and project development efforts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of construction materials testing principles, applications, and ASTM testing standards.
  • Proficient at data interpretation and evaluation of CMT techniques and results.
  • Experience performing field and/or laboratory tests on construction materials and the ability to evaluate test results in terms of specification compliance.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials testing and evaluation techniques.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
