What You Will Do

The Strategic Account Sales Executive is tasked with leading a $100M business as an executive-level strategic leader. This role involves supporting major stakeholders across the Johnson Controls organization and is part of a vibrant, growth-focused team dedicated to achieving success. The position calls for a high-energy, effective leader with a robust foundation in business leadership, engagement at the C-suite level, and a proven record of managing opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle. We seek a diligent, proactive, self-directed individual motivated by personal integrity and high achievement.

The role's primary objective is to enhance customer awareness and demand for Johnson Controls' solutions and services, enabling clients to achieve their organizational goals through a deep understanding of their needs. This leadership position requires a driven individual capable of driving sales growth and capturing a significant share of wallet from customers, while effectively influencing and collaborating with senior executives within their team and managed accounts.

How You Will Do It

  • Establish and cultivate valuable business partnershipswith JCI’s largest clients by proactively identifying business opportunities that align with customer priorities and drivers.

  • Leverage the JCI global footprint and competitive advantages toincrease and defend share of wallet. Identify innovative business models, influence product roadmaps, and guide resource plans to position JCI as a leader in the industry.

  • Advocate for the organization's strategy passionately, setting ambitious sales performance expectations and supporting global team efforts to exceed them.

  • Ensure the customer’s perspective drives strategic priorities, business decisions, organizational processes, and actions. Act as a customer advocate to exceed expectations, providing forecasting and pipeline management for realistic planning and performance tracking.

  • Persuade key partners toalign initiatives with shared business objectives. Build and nurture strategic global relationships with clients, potential partners, and internal stakeholders offering valuable insights and expertise.

  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of economic, financial, market, and industry trends todrive customer success, contributing to effective strategies and tactics that elevate performance.

  • Collaborate effectively within Johnson Controls’ global network, navigating complex structures to implement strategies that gain organizational commitment and buy-in for customer solutions.

What we look for
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field with 5-7 years of experience, or at least 10 years of dynamic professional experience in a similar role and industry.

  • Extensive experience selling to executive levels, including negotiating and securing large opportunities, with a proven track record of closing deals.

  • Strong knowledge of the technology ecosystem, including relationships with large investor-owned companies.

  • Technical inclination to develop in-depth knowledge of technology roadmaps and digital strategies to create customer-focused solutions.

  • Comfortable with the entire sales process, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency in achieving revenue targets.

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a matrixed environment and approach each day and opportunity with passion and enthusiasm.

  • Willingness to travel up to 35%+ of the time.

  • Technology savvy, with proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

Salary Range: HIRING SALARY RANGE: $109,000- 170,000(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
