This individual contributor role requires strong technical knowledge, strategic execution skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across the organization. You will act as a domain expert for critical infrastructure products-including power generators, transformers, switchgear, ATSs, RPPs, UPSs, and PDUs-translating business goals into detailed requirements, guiding development roadmaps, and identifying new avenues for growth. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you will play a key role in delivering innovative power infrastructure solutions and expanding Supermicro's market presence in AI, cloud, and enterprise data centers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
  • Strategy, Execution & Business Development: Own and execute the near-to-mid-term product roadmap for assigned power infrastructure products. Support business development efforts by identifying new market opportunities and strategic partnerships to drive adoption of our complete power ecosystem solutions.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct focused market and competitive analysis for data center power infrastructure. Synthesize insights on the entire power chain-from utility feed and generators/transformers through switchgear and ATSs, to RPPs, UPSs, PDUs, and rack-level distribution-focusing on trends in efficiency, density, sustainability, and intelligent management.
  • Technical Product Ownership: Translate market needs into clear, actionable technical specifications for engineering. Develop architectural guidance for how power generators, transformers, switchgear, ATSs, RPPs, UPS systems, and PDUs integrate into cohesive, efficient, and reliable data center power solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure successful product development, launch, and lifecycle management. Partner with sales and business development teams to support key customer engagements and technical partnership discussions.
  • Customer, Partner & Ecosystem Engagement: Engage directly with key customers, partners (including OEMs and component vendors), and ecosystem players. Act as a subject matter expert on the full power infrastructure stack, gathering feedback and exploring joint solution opportunities.
  • Business & Ecosystem Analysis: Develop data-driven business cases for product features and new product initiatives. Analyze the competitive landscape and partner ecosystem for power generation, transformation, and distribution to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Process Improvement: Actively participate in improving product development and lifecycle management processes to enhance team efficiency and product quality.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Serve as a knowledge resource within the product team, sharing insights on power infrastructure systems and effective product management practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 8-10+ years of product management or related experience, with a proven track record in bringing complex hardware systems to market within data center infrastructure or critical power.
  • Strong technical knowledge of data center power infrastructure, including direct experience with products such as power generators, transformers, switchgear, ATSs, RPPs, UPSs, PDUs, and power monitoring systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
  • Familiarity with trends in data center power and a commercial aptitude for identifying and evaluating new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in market requirements analysis, business case development, and prioritization.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and potential partners.
  • Understanding of enterprise sales cycles, channel dynamics, and experience supporting business development or go-to-market activities for infrastructure products.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on shipping high-quality products that meet market needs and drive business growth.
