Full Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on Staff Engineer to set the technical direction for our next-generation, enterprise platform. As one of our most senior individual contributors, you will architect and build cloud-native solutions, raise the bar on engineering quality across teams, and lead how we adopt AI throughout the software development lifecycle. We are a Claude shop - we build with Anthropic's Claude and Claude Code every day - and we're looking for an engineer who is excited to help us do that responsibly and at scale. If you have the passion and experience to explore cutting-edge cloud solutions, service-oriented architecture, APIs, Data/Analytics, and AI-assisted engineering - this is an opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:

o Own the architecture and technical roadmap for major areas of the platform, ensuring solutions are enterprise-scalable, secure, and maintainable

o Set the standard for how the team uses AI in software engineering - driving effective, responsible use of Claude and Claude Code for design, coding, code review, testing, and documentation

o Establish patterns, guardrails, and best practices for AI-assisted development (prompting/context strategies, code-generation review, evaluations, and guarding against insecure or low-quality AI output)

o Design and develop cloud-native, service-oriented solutions using Azure services, APIs, and modern frameworks

o Partner with Product Managers, engineering scrum teams, Client Operations, and Sales to deliver high-impact features

o Define coding standards, lead code reviews, and champion continuous improvement of platform reliability, scalability, and security

o Drive research, case studies, and prototypes on emerging technologies - including AI/LLM capabilities - and show how they can be leveraged for the business

o Lead proofs-of-concept in collaboration with development teams and shepherd promising ones to production

o Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to engineers across the organization, raising the overall level of engineering excellence

o Ensure software meets all requirements for quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, and compliance

Qualification and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science
• At least 8-10 years of software development experience, with a track record of designing and delivering large, complex systems
• Mastery of multiple programming languages and platforms (C#, React/Angular, Python, Cloud-Services - Azure preferred)
• 5+ years in Cloud Engineering (Azure/AWS/GCP, Azure preferred)
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Codex or Cursor) - Claude / Claude Code preferred - to build production software, and the judgment to know when and how to rely on them
• Working understanding of LLMs and AI-assisted engineering: prompting and context management, evaluating AI-generated code, and the security, privacy, and quality considerations involved
• Ability to independently design and deliver large, complex projects, and to translate functional requirements into technical design
• Ability to work with the CTO, tech-leadership team, senior engineers, DevOps, and Security Engineers to shape the architectural vision and roadmap for the organization
• Experience defining best practices and standards for microservice implementation
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading by influence across teams
• Delivering platform/product AI Capability experience preferred
• Data Lake architecture experience (Snowflake/Azure/AWS - Snowflake/Azure preferred)
• Analytics visualization using Power BI - a plus

Why You'll Love Working Here:
  • Comprehensive Benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision plan options and Company-Paid Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance
  • 401K Contributions - Generous employer match with immediate vesting
  • Generous Time Off - 5 weeks of PTO, 9 paid holidays, and 3 days of volunteer time off each year
