Full Job Description
The DGX Platform Experiences team owns how customers access, manage, and connect their accounts and data, and how they move across the Intuit ecosystem. As a Staff Design Researcher, you set the research direction across two portfolios, Data Platform and Intuit Data Exchange, and you turn what we learn into decisions that shape both roadmaps This is a senior individual-contributor role that runs on independence. You decide what gets studied and what waits, you manage your own time against more demand than any one person can meet, and you carry the work from question to decision with little day-to-day direction. The weight falls on judgment and prioritization as much as on method. Responsibilities • Set the research direction across both portfolios. Own the questions that matter for Data Platform and for Intuit Data Exchange, decide what is worth studying and what isn't, and sequence a program of work that runs across quarters rather than sprints. • Turn evidence into direction. Bring a clear point of view to product and design leadership about where the biggest customer opportunities are, and make the case in terms leaders can act on. • Influence at the altitude of directors and VPs. Change roadmaps, investment decisions, and strategy through the strength of the insight and how you land it, not through authority. • Be the standard for research quality. As the senior researcher on the team, you set the methods and the rigor, and you make product managers and designers better at the lighter-weight research they run themselves. • Run the hard studies yourself when the stakes call for it. Plan and lead research across the full range of methods, from generative interviews and contextual inquiry through usability, survey, and behavioral analysis, and get to the root of how customers actually think. • Connect the dots across the ecosystem. Build a shared, durable understanding of platform customers that carries across products and outlasts any single project, so teams start from what we already know instead of relearning it. • Prioritize ruthlessly and run yourself. With two portfolios and more open questions than can be answered at once, you make the call on what matters most, keep the work organized, and move it forward without waiting for direction. Qualifications • Deep command of qualitative and quantitative methods, and the judgment to choose, combine, or invent an approach when the problem is new. You can triangulate interview data, behavioral and clickstream signals, surveys, and market data into a single clear read. • Strategic thinking rooted in business context. You start from where the business is trying to go, clarify the objectives behind a request, and focus the work on the questions that will actually move a decision. • A track record of research that changed product or portfolio strategy, with outcomes you can point to, not just studies you ran. • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, and to tell a clear, well-structured story that brings the insight to life and holds up in a room full of executives. • A working understanding of AI, including its capabilities, limits, and the trust and ethics questions it raises, and a view on how to study experiences where automation does the work for the customer. • The instinct to lift the partners around you, whether that means coaching a product manager through their first study or helping a designer read their own findings. • The make-up of a self-starter. You are organized, proactive, and comfortable owning research across both portfolios at once, and you prioritize ruthlessly when the roadmap asks for more than one person can deliver. • A portfolio that shows strategic research leading to real business impact. • A bachelor's degree or equivalent real-world experience, and typically eight or more years working as a hands-on researcher in industry. • Design thinking, workshop planning, and facilitation experience are a plus. Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. This position may be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at ).
