Job Summary
We are a dynamic and innovative company developing advanced military Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for defense and government applications. We are seeking a Senior UAS Systems Integration Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and optimization of next-generation small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS).
This role works at the intersection of software, electrical, mechanical, and aerospace engineering. The successful candidate will integrate hardware and software subsystems, support prototype development and flight testing, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and help mature new aircraft from concept through production.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with experience developing and debugging complex electro-mechanical systems such as drones, robotics, aerospace systems, or other autonomous platforms.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Integrate and troubleshoot avionics, sensors, communications systems, payloads, propulsion systems, and autonomy software.
Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to resolve cross-functional technical issues.
Support system architecture, requirements development, interface definitions, and technical documentation.
Bring up and validate new prototype aircraft, including first-power-on testing and software installation.
Configure and tune flight controllers and autopilot systems such as PX4 or ArduPilot.
Analyze flight logs and system data using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
Plan and support laboratory, ground, and flight testing activities.
Perform hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and related test equipment.
Troubleshoot RF communications systems including telemetry, command-and-control, and video links.
Conduct root-cause investigations and drive resolution of system-level issues.
Support battery systems, power architectures, manufacturing integration, and production transition activities.
Job Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
5+ years of engineering experience in UAS, aerospace, robotics, autonomous systems, embedded systems, or similar complex products.
3+ years of hands-on experience developing, integrating, testing, or troubleshooting drones, robotics, or other autonomous systems.
Experience with Linux, Python, MATLAB, or equivalent technical tools.
Experience with electrical debugging and laboratory test equipment.
Familiarity with C/C++, embedded systems, and common communication protocols such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C.
Experience integrating and troubleshooting sensors such as GPS, IMUs, cameras, motor controllers, and related subsystems.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
U.S. Citizenship.
Desired/Preferred:
Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, MAVLink, ROS, or ROS2.
Experience tuning flight control systems and analyzing flight data.
Experience with RF communications, telemetry systems, datalinks, or SDRs.
Experience with EO/IR payloads, computer vision systems, LiDAR, radar, or related sensor technologies.
Experience with battery management systems (BMS) and power electronics.
Experience with HIL/SIL testing environments.
Experience supporting prototype development and manufacturing transition.
Personal or professional experience with drones, RC aircraft, or robotics.
Why Join Us?
