What you'll be doing

The Sr. Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will play a pivotal role in supporting Project Finance, Technology, Security, Operations, and Facilities. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this individual contributor position partners with key stakeholders across the organization to deliver insightful financial analysis, drive process improvements, and support strategic decision-making. The role may evolve to include direct reports in the future.

How you'll succeed

Month-End Close & Accounting Support:

Collaborate with Accounting and Operations teams to ensure accurate and timely month-end close for assigned areas. Demonstrate strong understanding of technology and real estate terminology, and apply the appropriate accounting treatment under both IFRS and GAAP.

Variance Analysis:
Conduct in-depth analysis of financial results, identify trends, and effectively communicate key variance drivers to stakeholders.

Reporting & Forecasting:
Prepare and deliver high-quality financial reports, forecasts, and presentations to senior management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Annual Planning:
Lead and coordinate the annual planning process for supported functions, including budget development, scenario analysis, and alignment with organizational objectives.

Project Finance:
Provide comprehensive financial support for capital projects, including business case evaluation, financial modeling, and post-implementation reviews.

Business Partnering:
Foster strong relationships with Technology, Security, Operations, and Facilities teams to understand business priorities and deliver actionable financial insights.

Process Improvement:
Identify and implement opportunities to enhance FP&A processes, reporting, and analytics. Champion best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Ad-Hoc Analysis:

Support strategic initiatives and business cases through robust financial modeling and analysis. Deliver high-quality work on special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.

Who you are
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • You possess 8-10 years of progressive experience in FP&A or related financial roles.
  • You are an experienced leader managing multiple capital projects, process improvements, and stakeholder expectations.
  • You show advanced proficiency in SAP, Essbase, and Power BI.
  • You have your CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
  • You portray strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • You are able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.


At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $130,000 - $160,000K for the Chicago, IL market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
