What you'll be doing

As the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence & Analytics, you will be part of a fast-paced, agile team and responsible for providing advanced analytical support and statistical insights to the reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives for CIBC's Collections function. As Senior Manager, you'll deliver impactful analytics, develop strategies, and drive enhanced business decisions on managing collections performance, customer interactions, and financial outcomes. With your deep expertise in collections operations processes and advanced analytics, you will play a key role in optimizing collections strategies and supporting operational excellence. You will be the primary analytics partner to collections leadership, translating complex collections data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior management. You will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights, ensuring that collections leaders and stakeholders have the understanding they need to optimize performance and reduce losses. You will design and deliver robust analytics and reporting frameworks tailored to the needs of the collections leadership team, enabling data-driven decisions at every stage of the collections lifecycle. Additionally, you will work closely with other teams in IT, Business Intelligence, and Risk to ensure data integrity and compliance with governance standards.

How you'll succeed

  • Domain Knowledge - Well-versed in best practices and new discoveries in analytical fields, with a strong focus on collections operations, processes, and performance metrics. Apply your knowledge to develop and enhance reporting and analytics for collections leadership.
  • Collections Data Expertise - Utilize your in-depth knowledge of collections processes (early-stage, mid-stage, late-stage, and dialer collections) to support analytics, reporting, and modelling. Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports to provide senior leadership with timely and relevant insights into collections performance, trends, and opportunities.
  • Relationship Management - Foster working relationships with business partners, particularly within the collections function, to create a collaborative atmosphere. Cultivate new relationships aimed at creating solutions to common objectives and ensure alignment of analytics and reporting with business priorities.
  • People Leadership - Actively recognize the contributions of your team to foster a positive, collaborative, and productive working environment. Lead and coach a successful analytics team, helping them develop specialized expertise in collections analytics and reporting.
  • Innovation - Create and foster an environment of innovation, bringing new technologies, ideas, and approaches to meet business objectives. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance collections analytics and reporting capabilities to support senior leadership in strategic decision-making.


Who you are

  • You can demonstrate significant experience in advanced analytics within collections operations and/or risk management, including developing and delivering insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • You have a proven track record of applying modeling and advanced math skills. Using SAS, SQL, Python, AI, and machine learning-to collections data and processes.
