Overview

Lead a high-performance team of senior sellers driving Azure and AI business growth across Oil, Gas and Energy industry Strategic accounts. Own disciplined account execution, pipeline and forecasts, revenue and consumption growth and production adoption. Build executive partnerships that deliver customer business value while developing experienced sellers through a model, coach, and care culture.

Responsibilities
Field Enablement

Direct readiness planning for senior cloud sellers in Oil, Gas and Energy Region Strategic accounts, linking learning to Azure and AI account execution. Validate opportunities to strengthen industry fluency, executive engagement, commercial judgment, and progression from qualification to production adoption.

Lead regional strategies that deepen understanding of the Azure and AI portfolio and its relevance to customer transformation priorities. Coach experienced sellers to share proven architectures, sales materials, competitive insights, and account practices with colleagues and partners, and apply that learning to improve pipeline quality, revenue and consumption growth, and customer outcomes.
Intellectual Property Creation & Scaling

Oversee proposals, solution patterns, whitepapers, blogs, and marketing content that advance Azure and AI sales in strategic energy accounts. Guide senior sellers in codifying competitive insights, monetization approaches, and successful account practices into reusable guidance for sales teams and partners, adapted to customer operating contexts.

Coach sellers to build credible return on investment (ROI) frameworks, business value narratives, and commercial positioning. Potential priorities include operational reliability, asset performance, workforce productivity, and emissions management. Validate Azure and AI business cases with customers, distinguish expected benefits from demonstrated results, and refine assets using feedback from wins, losses, and adoption.

Empower senior sellers to present these insights at customer briefings, road shows, conferences, and innovation events, reinforcing Microsoft's role as a transformation partner. Connect thought leadership to executive relationships, qualified opportunities, and scalable customer value rather than content creation alone.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Security, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, Information Security, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Security, or related field AND 12+ years experience in technology-related sales or account management OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years solution or services sales experience.
  • 3+ years people management experience.


Solution Area Specialists M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.
