Freewheel is currently looking to recruit a Senior Data Engineer to join our Audience & AI group as part of the Revenue Science engineering team. This role will be responsible for supporting data engineering efforts related to data analyses, AI, machine learning, optimization methods, and statistical model building. This role will work very closely with engineering and product management staff to support the development of innovative approaches to the next generation of ad tech products.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data-driven questions and conduct experiments for product and service enhancements
- Engineering and refining algorithms, software, and automated processes for robust data integration and cleansing from multiple sources
- Designing and building data pipelines and structures that ingest, standardize, and transform logs and business data into warehouse tables and data feeds
- Create data architectures that effectively manage data ingestion, processing and storage at scale
- Ensuring data quality and integration throughout the pipeline (CI/CD, monitoring, troubleshooting failures)
- Ensure efficient and optimized use of compute/storage throughout model pipelines among all team members
- Developing systems to detect and remediate security and code vulnerabilities
- Working independently and as part of a broader team across multiple projects
Desired Skills and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Operations Research required; Master’s or PhD a plus
- At least 7 years of experience in data engineering, including experience using large datasets
- Experience using AWS, Databricks and Snowflake technologies highly preferred. Other on-prem/ cloud platforms a plus
- Knowledge of AI platforms (e.g., Amazon Bedrock), large language models and AI orchestration (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph) technologies desired
- Knowledge of MLOps and LLMOps processes desired
- Experience with platform / infrastructure / monitoring tools such as Kubernetes, Teradata, Datadog, Airflow
- Skilled at data mangling and extract, transform, load (ETL) pipelines and Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
- Strong analytical, presentation and documentation skills; ability to work independently in a problem-solving environment
- Proven ability to deliver on complex projects within deadlines
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Strong interest in advertising technology

Compensation
New York Pay Range: $148,018.20 - $222,027.30
This job can be performed in Virginia with a Pay Range of $141,850.78 - $222,027.30
