Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior IS Clinical Analyst participates as part of the clinical information system team, including ED & OR systems, and performs liaison duties associated with the implementation, support, training material, end user training, and maintenance for all aspects of the clinical information system. This position provides problem tracking, resolution, on-going enhancement requests, and active participation in system testing, workflow redesign, change management, and continual education to facility employees and physicians. In addition to the clinical information system, coordinate and support ancillary and financial applications.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability for abstract reasoning and a talent for explaining the abstractions in concrete terms.
2. Ability to emphasize with people of many backgrounds functioning at any staff or operational level in the hierarchy of the hospital.
3. Ability to work with end-users to determine software specifications, hardware requirements, and process improvement workflows.
4. Able to travel 25% of time. Travel to different facilities is required.
5. Able to work under pressure to meet timelines.
6. Extended work at video display terminal.
7. Flexibility of schedule.
8. Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications required.
9. Good analytical skills to resolve system problems.
10. Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
11. Comfortable and confident interacting with physicians and clinicians at all levels.
12. Two to four years of information services /super-user experience and/or direct patient care.
13. Understanding of clinical workflow and operational processes within a department or interdepartmentally.
14. Advanced working knowledge of clinical information systems (Cerner preferred).
15. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
1. Minimum of Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Information Systems or related field. In lieu of education may substitute a minimum of 5 years of clinical systems usage/support or direct patient care experience.
2. Appropriate licensure preferred.
