PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Identify key business levers across payment products, establish cause and effect, perform analyses at various data dimensions leveraging AI tools, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data-driven decision making. Identify new opportunities to grow and optimize the business through analytics, financial modeling, business case development and process improvement. Dissect large quantities of data using SQL and Excel, apply statistical programming languages like R, Python, and visualize content through reporting tools including ThinkCell and SAP S4Hana systems. Translate complex concepts into business terms and influence both peers and C-suite leadership. Derive quantitative insights, develop relationships with teams including Product, Analytics and Finance which will facilitate data-driven decision making across the organization. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

1. SQL: Database query language for data extraction and manipulation (4 years)
2. Python: Programming language for data analysis and automation (4 years)
3. Essbase planning and reporting: Oracle's multidimensional database software for planning, analysis, and reporting (1 year)
4. SAP S4Hana resource planning system: Enterprise resource planning software for financial and operational processes (1 year)
5. Excel: Spreadsheet software for data analysis and financial modeling (4 years)
6. PowerPoint: Presentation software for business communications. (4 years)
7. Think-cell: PowerPoint add-on for creating professional charts and presentations. (1 year)
8. Machine Learning techniques: Application of algorithms for predictive modeling and pattern recognition (2 years)
9. Consumer forecasting analytics: Techniques for predicting consumer behavior and market trends (3 years)
10. Quantitative and qualitative assessment on model output: Ability to evaluate and interpret analytical models (4 years)
11. Data manipulation and analytics: Skills in transforming, cleaning, and deriving insights from data (4 years)
12. Finance planning and risk management: Experience with financial planning and risk assessment specifically for payment products (Digital Wallets, Credit Card, Debit Card, Bank Transfers). (1 year)
13. Knowledge and experience at payment processing company: Familiarity with payment industry operations and challenges. (4 years)
14. Strong storytelling abilities with financial data with the ability to synthesize complex information: Transform complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives that highlight key insights and business implications. (4 years)
15. Experience presenting to senior leaders: Capability to effectively communicate complex analyses, recommendations, and strategic insights to executive-level audiences. (4 years)
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
San Jose, California | Salary: $142,633.00-195,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
