Full Job Description
Position Summary

Supports the development, execution and oversight of communications team initiatives and deliverables, with a primary focus on elevating executive thought leadership. While reporting to the Sr. Manager, Executive Communications, this role will work across the broader Communications and Marketing Team, providing support for policy and industry communications projects, and interfacing with the marketing team to align on social media goals and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Communications:
  • Support the development of executive thought leadership content, including social media, op-eds and remarks
  • Collaborate with internal staff, including the Social Media Manager, to develop and boost dedicated social media content designed to highlight executive communications, advocacy efforts, and organizational priorities
  • Proactively research and pitch speaking opportunities for senior CTA leaders
  • Prepare briefing materials for interviews and external engagements

Media Engagement:
  • Develop and maintain tailored media lists, aligned with CTA/CES priorities
  • Track and provide regular reporting on media coverage of key CTA/CES topics, announcements and spokespeople
  • Draft press releases and statements
  • Serve as a staff-level spokesperson for CES (training provided)

General
  • Support communications team events
  • Provide daily management of CTA and CES media outreach and registration inboxes
  • Collect and edit content submissions for regular communications team products
  • Track and coordinate internal speaker requests
  • Other duties as required by business needs

Qualifications

Work Experience:
  • 3+ years' experience in communications and/or digital advocacy
  • Experience working with C-suite preferred

Education/Training:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Communications, Political Science, English or Journalism concentration preferred)

Skills/Capabilities/Technical:
  • Strong writing and project management capabilities
  • Comfort with social media writing, engagement and metrics tracking
  • Understanding of the policy, political or technology landscape and ability to synthesize new information
  • Ability to effectively manage projects with multiple stakeholders and multitask across departments and teams with competing deadlines
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; social and earned media monitoring tools, experience in HTML, member management and advocacy software

Additional Information:
  • Position reports to Sr. Manager, Executive Communications
  • Travel to CES is required; may involve other occasional travel
  • This is an exempt position

Compensation & Benefits
CTA is committed to transparency and equitable pay practices. The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. This role may be eligible for bonus or additional compensation, where applicable.
