Job Description
BCS Allegient has a contingent opening for a Dashboard Developer to support an upcoming contract with the Department of Energy.
Salary Range: $120K - $160K depending on experience.
Job Functions:
- Develop, enhance, maintain, and support web-based dashboards and data visualization tools for a federal emerging building technologies program.
- Support the Office of Engineering and Office of Facility Management Subject Matter Expert Dashboard, including feature enhancements, modules, visualizations, data updates, user support, and system documentation.
- Design and maintain dashboards that provide visibility into SME activities, project assignments, workload distribution, operational performance metrics, KPIs, reporting requirements, and program status.
- Work with federal program managers, technical writers, graphic designers, data analysts, subject matter experts, and communications staff to translate program data into usable dashboard views and reporting products.
- Support dashboard operations and maintenance, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, system updates, performance monitoring, data quality checks, and user support.
- Develop and maintain documentation for dashboard architecture, data sources, business rules, system configuration, user guides, and operational procedures.
- Support data visualization for technology evaluations, measurement and verification results, deployment tracking, portfolio analysis, and Pilot-to-Portfolio reporting.
- Assist with web-based platform management, responsive design, CMS updates, UX optimization, and digital publication workflows as needed.
- Ensure dashboard and digital products are usable, accessible, secure, and aligned with applicable federal requirements, including Section 508 and WCAG where applicable.
- Coordinate with the Government and contractor team to identify dashboard enhancement needs, prioritize updates, resolve defects, and support evolving reporting requirements.
- Provide technical input for status reports, leadership updates, recurring program reviews, and ad hoc data calls.
- Support transition planning by reviewing existing dashboard materials, documentation, source files, data structures, workflows, and user requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, software engineering, web development, engineering, business analytics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in dashboard development, data visualization, web application development, software development, business intelligence, or digital platform support.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience developing, maintaining, or enhancing web-based dashboards, data visualization tools, reporting platforms, or internal program management systems.
- Experience supporting federal agencies, federal programs, energy programs, building technology programs, scientific/technical programs, or complex stakeholder reporting environments preferred.
- Experience with one or more dashboard, business intelligence, or data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Excel/Power Query, JavaScript-based dashboards, or similar platforms.
- Experience with web content, CMS updates, UX optimization, data integration, user support, system documentation, troubleshooting, and platform maintenance.
- Preferred experience supporting DOE, GSA, DOE National Laboratories, FEMP, federal energy programs, federal facilities, Green Proving Ground, CEBT, or similar federal technology programs.
- Experience with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility requirements for digital platforms preferred.
