Special Projects Engineer to improve the ability to offer the best and most efficient customer service and support of Construction Projects related to FAA and FAA associated new and existing Equipment and Facilities.
DescriptionThe
Special Projects Engineer will bring strong interpersonal skills and broad engineering expertise to support multidisciplinary projects involving electronic equipment, integrated systems, HVAC, electrical systems, building design, and project oversight. This role requires specialized experience designing FAA-specific systems, a strong understanding of FAA standards, and experience supporting military projects. Experience serving as a Lead or Project Engineer on the construction of significant facilities is highly desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Develop scopes of work, drawings, and cost estimates for a variety of projects for NDP related facilities. Most of the work will focus on new and existing RADAR facilities.
- Provide engineering support for existing systems at NDP related facilities including not only construction, but also evaluation and assessments of existing systems.
- Identify potential areas for design improvements, and develop unique optimized solutions to improve the reliability of the equipment and future facilities
- Work and communicate effectively with a multi-disciplined team to accomplish project execution.
- Create and modify drawings using MicroStation or AutoCAD and be very competent in at least one of these programs.
Certificates/Security Clearances/OtherSecurity Clearance: Active Secret Clearance preferred. Must be eligible to obtain if not active.
Salary: $142K - $155K depending on experience and education level. JMA offers a full benefits package with medical, dental, vision, a 401(K) with company match, and life insurance.
Location: West Coast with 25-50% Travel
Required ExperienceQualifications:- Accredited BS degree in an accredited Engineering program
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- In depth familiarity with FAA systems and processes
Preferred ExperiencePreferred Qualifications - West Coast residents preferred.
- Prior Electrical or Civil Engineering lead experience.
- Project Engineer on construction of a significant facility is a bonus
- Able to travel extensively both nationally and internationally.
