We are seeking a highly technical
Solutions Engineer to join our team in Toronto. In this role, you will own the technical relationship with our customers, ensuring our AI integrates seamlessly into their enterprise environments and remains stable as they scale. You will design integrations, support production deployments, resolve complex technical issues, and keep projects on track so customer communication doesn't fall through the cracks.
We have engineering hubs in New York City, Vancouver, and Toronto, and this role is 5 days per week onsite in our Toronto office. We optimize for people who like to think deeply, whiteboard with other sharp engineers, and ship ambitious systems together in person.
Key Responsibilities:- Co-own the account (alongside Sales and Account Executives) from demos to prospects and POC development, all the way to production and post-production, serving as the primary engineering point of contact.
- Serve as Owl's primary technical representative to customers, communicating effectively with audiences ranging from engineering and IT to management.
- Design and integrate Owl's AI platform into customer environments, making sound trade-offs across compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Run project cadence on customer engagements: scope, milestones, deliverables, and risks.
- Drive resolution of complex production challenges by tracing logs and debugging systems, collaborating with the broader technical team to deliver technical guidance while maintaining platform SLAs.
- Collaborate closely with Product and core Engineering teams to scope missing features, translate customer needs into technical specifications, and continuously improve the platform.
- Partner with Business Development on technical feasibility, pilot scoping, and security/IT reviews (SOC 2, InfoSec questionnaires, data handling).
Ideal Profile:- 3+ years of experience in solutions engineering, solutions architecture, or a highly technical customer-facing role at a SaaS company.
- Hands-on experience with a major cloud (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP fine), REST APIs, and observability tools for distributed systems.
- Strong project management instincts. You set expectations, track commitments, and keep customers and internal teams aligned without a PM chasing you.
- Comfortable running technical conversations and tailoring the message to audiences ranging from developers to management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of independently diagnosing and resolving complex production issues.
- Located in Toronto and excited to work 5 days a week in-office with our local engineering team, while managing customer relationships virtually.
Benefits:- Healthcare benefits: we cover 100% of the premiums for you and your family members (medical, dental & vision)
- RRSP matching to help you save for your future
- Recharge: 4 weeks of paid time off & 5 additional personal/sick days
- Daily team lunches
- Bi-annual offsites: we'll make sure everyone at Owl has an opportunity to hang out with teammates IRL at least twice a year
