Job Description:

Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Solutions Architect at GDIT. Here, you’ll tailor cutting-edge solutions to the unique requirements of our clients. With a career in application development, you’ll make the end user’s experience your priority and we’ll make your career growth ours.

As a Solutions ArchitectSME you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a growth-focused Solutions Architect SME joining our Federal Health team to lead solution development for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) opportunities, with a focus on software development, application modernization, and DevSecOps. This is a growth role: most of your time will be spent working with capture and proposal teams to shape technical solutions and write proposal content. You will bring strong knowledge of government agencies, preferably VA, and the ability to translate customer needs, solicitation requirements, GDIT capabilities, delivery experience, and partner technologies into clear, compelling, and executable solutions. Experience in both growth and delivery is valuable, but prior delivery experience is not required.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

  • Lead technical solution development for growth opportunities, from early capture and shaping through proposal submission and oral presentations, as applicable.
  • Work as the technical lead within capture and proposal teams to develop an integrated solution aligned to customer requirements, win strategy, evaluation criteria, and GDIT capabilities.
  • Analyze RFIs, RFPs, performance work statements, statements of work, and other acquisition artifacts to identify technical requirements, solution gaps, risks, and differentiators.
  • Own and write technical proposal content, including solution narratives, architectures, delivery approaches, transition plans, technical management approaches, LOE/BOE and supporting graphics.
  • Develop credible, executable solutions for software development, application modernization, and DevSecOps opportunities.
  • Define approaches for application architecture, Agile software delivery, CI/CD, automated testing, security integration, cloud environments, observability, and operations as required by each opportunity. Architect solutions with container platforms including secure build, registry, runtime protection, and supply‑chain security, as well as solutions that reference CI/CD pipelines, automated quality/security gates, infrastructure as code, and configuration management with immutable, reproducible environments.
  • Apply any knowledge of the VA mission, organization, technology environment, standards, priorities, and acquisition context to ensure proposed solutions are relevant to the customer and grounded in how VA operates.
  • Translate technical solutions into work breakdowns, staffing assumptions, implementation roadmaps, estimates, basis of estimate inputs, risks, dependencies, and lifecycle costs.
  • Coordinate with account teams, capture, business development, proposal management, pricing, contracts, delivery leaders, GDIT technical subject matter experts, technology partners, and subcontractors to build and validate the solution.
  • Incorporate relevant GDIT capabilities, delivery experience, past performance, and partner technologies into proposal solutions and content.
  • Lead solution reviews and technical color-team responses; refine the solution and proposal content based on review findings.
  • Support pre-RFP customer engagement, technical exchanges, demonstrations, and partner discussions, and maintain reusable software development and DevSecOps solution content for future growth opportunities.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience: 15+ years’ experience in Information Technology, including 5+ years developing technical solutions and proposal content for federal growth opportunities. Demonstrated experience leading technical solution development for large, complex government proposals.
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical solution development and write technical proposal content.
  • Strong technical knowledge of software development, application modernization, DevSecOps, Agile delivery, cloud environments, CI/CD, automated testing, and integrated security.
  • Ability to interpret solicitation requirements and develop solution architectures, delivery approaches, roadmaps, staffing assumptions, estimates, and lifecycle costs.
  • Strong knowledge of government procurement, capture, and proposal processes. Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams under proposal deadlines.
  • Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and writing skills. Customer service orientation.
  • Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong working knowledge of VA, including its mission, organization, technology environment, priorities, and acquisition context.
  • Prior delivery leadership on software development, application modernization, or DevSecOps programs is valued but not required.
  • Experience leading technical proposal volumes, solution reviews, or oral presentations for large federal opportunities. Experience working across capture, pricing, contracts, delivery, partner, and proposal teams.
