Position Description
Catawba County Technology is recruiting a talented, solutions-oriented Software Systems Engineer to support and maintain the County's enterprise ERP platform. This position is central to County operations, ensuring that the systems serving Human Resources are expertly configured, developed, and performing at their best.

The expected hiring range for this position is $72,276.22 - $113,300.00; however, highly qualified candidates may be eligible to negotiate beyond this range.

This position is required to be in the office. Remote/hybrid work may be available after 12 months of employment, based on performance and departmental needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project plans for custom County ERP modules
  • Develop, implement, and support ERP modules, including Human Resources and Financials
  • Configure and set up ERP HRMS modules and provide consultation on configuration to the administrators and functional team members
  • Install/Update ERP Packages/Tools/Modules
  • Utilize API's to support custom County ERP modules on an ongoing basis
  • Develop reports to meet functional user needs
  • Support other applications and technology initiatives as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, and 3 years of directly related experience; OR
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field, and 4 years of directly related experience; OR
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, and 6 years of experience in a directly related technological function

Additional Requirements

  • Prior experience with ERP HRMS or Financials modules
  • Experience developing custom ERP reports or integrations
  • Experience Installing/Updating/Patching/Administrating ERP HRMS applications
  • Experience building middleware and reporting packages within ERP HRMS system(s)
  • Experience building applications in VB.NET, C#, or other similar modern language
  • Experience working with cloud-based applications with Azure, AWS, or OCI back ends
  • Strong problem-solving skills in both technical and business contexts
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all departments
  • Ability to work collaboratively with functional HR users and technical team members
  • This position is considered light work, lifting up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis

Preferences:
  • Familiarity with ERP development tools and scripting languages
  • Prior experience installing/updating/upgrading Software/Applications
  • Prior experience managing users and user access to systems.
