About the Team

RiskNarrative is a global platform within the Financial Crime and Compliance division of LexisNexis Risk Solutions, with teams distributed across the United States, United Kingdom, and Vietnam. This role is part of the US-based squad.

RiskNarrative is a B2B risk orchestration platform that enables organizations to assess and manage risks throughout the customer lifecycle. The platform supports consumer onboarding, transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, and financial crime compliance by orchestrating data, decisioning, and workflow processes.

The US squad is responsible for driving new product initiatives, enhancing the performance and scalability of the orchestration engine, and overseeing production deployments and ongoing platform maintenance. The squad is a cross-functional team comprising software engineers, quality assurance engineers, a product owner, and a project manager, working collaboratively to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions.

About the Role

This position serves as a subject matter expert for a specific team of Software Engineers. In addition to writing code on complex systems and applications, this position provides direction on project plans, schedules, and methodologies. The position has direct reports.

Responsibilities
  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
  • Serve as the initial point of escalation for software development issues within specific areas of responsibility.
  • Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
  • Complete complex bug fixes.
  • Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
  • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
  • Mentor and/or train entry-level software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles.
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments.
  • Design and work with complex data models.
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure all staff are provided with training and resources needed to perform their jobs to the most outstanding degree possible. Ensure all staff is provided with frequent feedback and coaching in order to meet and exceed individual and team performance goals consistently.
  • Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations.
  • Empower the staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions

Requirements
  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
  • Software Engineering experience along with development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
  • Having good knowledge in industry best practices in development.
  • Ability to partner and lead internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.
  • Ability to design and work with complex data models.
  • Knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems and in using and developing applicable tool sets.
  • Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Strong experience with various resource models such as Managed Services and/or Staff Augmentation.
  • Knowledge in industry best practices in external resource development.
  • Ability to partner and lead internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.
  • Test-driven development along with strong research skills.
  • Strong proficiency with data manipulation language including optimization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles.
  • Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components.
  • Experience in setting, communicating, implementing, and achieving business objectives and goals through the direct management of others.
  • Posses good experience in organization/project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments, and strong delegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity.
  • Problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making.
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills along with interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior and executive management, customers, etc., including diction/terminology and presenting information in a concise and effective manner to clients, management, and various departments using assorted communication mediums.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $115,400 - $192,300. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
