The Database Platform team's mission is to provide a scalable, consistent, and easy-to-use relational database platform to support our clients' relational data access use cases. As a SWE III on the Database Platform team, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of data at Box. Working closely with the database infrastructure team and data access service team, you will implement novel solutions to scale our database including adopting and evolving our systems around cloud-managed database solutions. You will also develop intuitive interfaces and provide automated services for schema management to enable developers to focus on shipping changes with streamlined change processes, while also freeing up the team to focus on innovation and strategic solutions. Required Skills - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field - 3+ years of professional software development experience - Strong understanding of common algorithms, data structures, and code design principles - Strong grasp of high-scale distributed systems Preferred Skills - Experience with JVM-based languages such as Java and Scala - Familiarity with relational database solutions such as MySQL - Passionate about scale and performance challenges - Strong sense of ownership, persistence and drive, strong communication Box lives its values, with community and in-person collaboration being a core part of our culture.
