About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Creator Monetization team - the engine that helps 7+ million creators turn their passion into sustainable careers. Our team's mission is to empower creators to continue doing what they love by building intuitive, accessible monetization tools, programs, and resources that reward authentic community engagement. You'll work on the engineering systems that directly impact creators' livelihoods, building and scaling the platforms that enable the Twitch Partner Program, DJ Program, Plus Program, and Extensions Monetization. These are the large-scale distributed systems that allow creators to monetize, calculate creator earnings, and power revenue analytics that help creators understand and grow their income on Twitch.

As part of our team, you will take ownership over our services powering creator monetization - architecting, building, and operating mission-critical systems. You will have the autonomy to work across the stack and collaborate closely with engineers throughout our larger Creator Growth organization, partnering with product managers, designers, and data analysts to deliver scalable monetization solutions that make a real difference to creators across the globe.
You Will:
  • Build systems that matter: Contribute to experiences and services that power creator earnings, payouts, and monetization programs that directly impact millions of creators' livelihoods
  • Deliver code with impact: Write and maintain code in Go, TypeScript, or other languages in our stack, with mentorship from senior engineers and tech leads who will help you grow
  • Solve problems that span multiple teams: Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across the organization to understand complex requirements and deliver elegant solutions
  • Shape how we build: Improve engineering processes, participate in design discussions, and contribute to code reviews that raise the bar for the entire team
You Have:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or prior relevant engineering experiences
  • 4+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of independently delivering features end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, data modeling and schema design
  • Experience building and maintaining highly available, observable systems in production
  • Proven ability to translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions, ideally in monetization or high-traffic consumer products
  • Proficient experience level in one or more of the following language: Go, Typescript, Ruby, Java, C++
Bonus Points
  • You're a creator or Twitch streamer or have previous experience in the gaming industry or creator space
Perks
  • Medical, Dental, Vision & Disability Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Maternity & Parental Leave
  • Flexible PTO
  • Amazon Employee Discount

About Twitch

Twitch is an American video live streaming service that focuses on video game live streaming, including broadcasts of esports competitions, in addition to offering music broadcasts, creative content, and "in real life" streams. It is operated by Twitch Interactive, a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. It was introduced in June 2011 as a spin-off of the general-interest streaming platform Justin.tv. Content on the site can be viewed either live or via video on demand. The popularity of Twitch eclipsed that of its general-interest counterpart. In October 2013, the website had 45 million unique viewers, and by February 2014, it was considered the fourth-largest source of peak Internet traffic in the United States. At the same time, Justin.tv's parent company was re-branded as Twitch Interactive to represent the shift in focus – Justin.tv was shut down in August 2014. That month, the service was acquired by Amazon for US$970 million, which later led to the introduction of synergies with the company's subscription service Amazon Prime. Twitch acquired Curse in 2016, an operator of online video gaming communities and introduced means to purchase games through links on streams along with a program allowing streamers to receive commissions on the sales of games that they play.
