The Role and Impact

As a Software Application Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging software applications used by end-users or integrated with other applications by ISVs. You will work across the full application stack, focusing on both frontend and backend development with modern programming languages and secure coding practices. Your contributions will directly enable high-quality, scalable, and efficient solutions, playing a key role in advancing technology initiatives within Intel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and debug software applications for end-users or integrated with third-party applications.
  • Contribute to both frontend and backend development using modern software methodologies and programming languages.
  • Write functional and test code, automate build and deployment processes, and perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Follow secure coding practices and ensure compliance with software legal guidelines.
  • Analyze user stories to translate requirements into practical software solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient infrastructure planning and functionality.
  • Complete product documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
  • Interact with end-users to define system requirements and implement necessary modifications.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your degree, research and or relevant previous job and or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 1+ years of hands-on experience in software development OR a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with no prior professional experience.

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Perl.
  • Familiarity with Linux shells and command-line interfaces (CLI).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industry-standard tools such as Ansible, Cobbler, Containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems (preferably SUSE).
  • Exposure to continuous monitoring solutions like Elastic, Kibana, and Grafana.
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/S.
  • Familiarity with static typed programming languages such as Java or C++.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $100,550.00-141,950.00 USD

 

 

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

 

 

Work Model for this Role
