Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to develop and maintain technology solutions supporting a defined contribution business platform. The platform operates in a mixed-technology environment using Java, Spring, Angular, and Oracle across web, application, and database tiers. The role requires strong experience with Java, Spring, web services, Angular, REST APIs, and modern software development practices, along with experience across the full product development lifecycle, design and development processes, roadmap initiatives, and rotational on-call production support.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Angular, REST, and related technologies.
• Develop and maintain Java/Spring RESTful APIs and web services.
• Contribute to full product development lifecycle activities, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
• Apply microservices principles and develop solutions using Spring Web Services, REST patterns, OAuth, Swagger, and Apache Camel.
• Develop service transformation, routing, enrichment, and orchestration solutions.
• Develop solutions across server-side Java and J2EE environments.
• Build client-side applications using Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JSON, and adaptable web design practices.
• Develop and maintain SQL-based solutions and database integrations.
• Implement pattern-based solutions and abstraction concepts, including reusable libraries, interceptors, and SDKs.
• Participate in technical design, development, and architecture discussions.
• Apply DevOps practices and contribute to CI/CD implementation and delivery processes.
• Work with Git, Maven, JIRA, and related software development and delivery tools.
• Support containerized applications and cloud deployments, including Azure Cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain API models and annotations using tools such as Swagger.
• Apply data structure concepts, including binary trees, binary search trees, graphs, and tree operations and traversals.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards and methodologies.
• Provide rotational on-call production support and troubleshoot application issues as needed.
• Collaborate with distributed technology teams to deliver and maintain platform solutions.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
• 3-6+ years of professional programming experience with Java, JavaScript-based frameworks, and client-side technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java.
• Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience developing Java/Spring RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience with Java 8.
• Experience with microservices principles and architecture.
• Experience with REST, SQL, JUnit, and Tomcat.
• Experience with Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and JSON.
• Experience with OAuth and API development practices.
• Experience with Swagger or similar API modeling and documentation tools.
• Experience with Apache Camel or comparable integration and routing technologies.
• Understanding of DevOps principles and implementation.
• Experience working with CI/CD, Git, Maven, and JIRA.
• Experience with containerization and cloud deployment.
• Experience with Azure Cloud technology.
• Experience developing pattern-based solutions, reusable libraries, interceptors, or SDKs.
• Strong understanding of data structures, including trees and graphs, with hands-on experience implementing tree operations and traversals.
• Experience working in fast-paced Agile development environments.
