Full Job Description
Davidson is seeking a Software Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, integrate, test, debug, and maintain software supporting modeling and simulation applications.
  • Develop high-quality software using C++, Python, Java, C#, or other appropriate programming languages.
  • Analyze technical requirements and translate them into maintainable software designs and implementation plans.
  • Support the development and integration of high-fidelity modeling and simulation capabilities.
  • Develop software components used to model threat systems, missile trajectories, sensors, engagements, and related mission scenarios.
  • Perform software verification and validation activities, including unit, integration, regression, and system-level testing.
  • Develop automated test scripts and tools to improve software quality and development efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot complex software issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to software development standards and best practices.
  • Work with Linux-based development environments and modern software development toolchains.
  • Utilize Git-based version control and contribute to automated build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automated software testing.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, software designs, test documentation, and user documentation.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate closely with systems engineers, test engineers, modeling and simulation engineers, analysts, and government customers.
  • Support requirements analysis, traceability, verification, and validation activities as needed.
  • Analyze simulation results and assist in identifying discrepancies, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support software integration activities across multiple development teams and simulation components.
  • Provide technical recommendations and contribute to architecture and design decisions.
  • Assist with deployment, configuration, maintenance, and sustainment of software in both development and operational environments.
  • Support customer demonstrations, technical briefings, and program reviews when required.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining schedule, quality, and technical objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Ability to collaboratively work on product requirements.

Desired Competencies:
  • Experience with military modeling and simulation (M&S) applications.
  • Experience supporting Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Space Force, Air Force, Army, Navy, or other DoD programs.
  • Experience with missile defense, missile warning, command and control, sensor systems, or related defense technologies.
  • Experience with high-fidelity simulation environments or discrete-event simulation frameworks.
  • Experience with Python scripting and automation for data processing, testing, or analysis.
  • Experience with MATLAB or other engineering analysis tools.
  • Experience developing or integrating REST APIs, microservices, or distributed applications.
  • Experience working within a classified development environment.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Currently hold active DoD Secret Clearance.
