Minimum qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- Experience with software design, development, testing, and maintenance.
Preferred qualifications:- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience designing and implementing network routing solutions for large-scale environments.
- Experience developing software applications using the C programming language.
About the jobAndromeda is a scalable, and flexible software-defined network (SDN) stack, enabling Cloud customer network topologies over Google's physical network. Andromeda provides network virtualization and advanced networking features, such as routing, firewall and load balancing, for Google compute engine (GCE). It is one of the core components of Google Cloud. USPSAndromeda is the on-host network stack that runs on every physical host in the Google Cloud fleet, and all cloud traffic goes over Andromeda. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities - Write product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
