Position Description:

Do you have a passion for designing secure, scalable enterprise architectures and leading complex engineering initiatives? Can you apply deep technical expertise, senior level judgment, and strong architectural leadership to guide enterprise financial system environments through modernization, integration, and configuration evolution? CGI Federal has an excellent opportunity for a Software Architect/Engineer 4 within our Intel sector, providing high value architectural support, solution design, and technical direction across multiple workstreams.
As a Software Architect/Engineer 4, you will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for developing system architectures, engineering secure designs, evaluating integrations, producing decisive technical documentation, and guiding cross functional teams. You will work across ERP aligned workflows, enterprise tools, and data oriented systems to ensure architectural coherence, performance, security, and modernization.
This position is located in Springfield, VA.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Lead the design and documentation of enterprise architecture components, aligning software, hardware, and communications frameworks with long term technical objectives.
. Evaluate complex workflows, integrations, configurations, and solution impacts; recommend corrective actions or architectural improvements.
. Provide senior level engineering leadership across multiple system modules, defining standards for coding, configuration, documentation, and architecture compliance.
. Oversee technical design for secure integrations, system behavior validation, resiliency checks, and performance tuning.
. Conduct architectural and engineering trade studies, developing alternatives analyses, decision papers, system design packages, and high level technical recommendations.
. Work closely with Systems Architect/Engineer 3 staff to unify AS IS and TO BE architecture, ensuring consistency across diagrams, baselines, dataflows, and interface designs.
. Mentor junior engineers and analysts, providing technical direction, oversight, and quality assurance across engineering deliverables.
. Participate in modernization planning, workflow reengineering, and solution scoping activities in coordination with cross functional technical teams..

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; 7+ years of enterprise systems engineering or architecture experience.
. Active Top Secret with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph required.
. Demonstrated ability to design, document, and evaluate enterprise scale technical architectures, integrations, and system modernization strategies.
. Advanced expertise in distributed systems, modern programming languages, API centric design, cloud native environments, and scalable system frameworks.
. Experience conducting workflow analysis, configuration based evaluations, performance assessments, and security driven system validations.
. Strong technical writing skills, including production of architecture diagrams, alternatives analyses, design papers, and engineering decision documentation.
. Excellent communication and leadership ability across engineering, functional, and security teams.
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
. Active TS/ SCI with polygraph
. Experience with microservices, event driven architectures, cloud platforms, or hybrid cloud integration.
. Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, IaC tooling, and automated testing frameworks.
. Strong background in system hardening, resiliency engineering, or secure configuration management.
. Ability to lead enterprise level architecture governance and long term technical strategy.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $218,200.00.
