Full Job Description
This role is required to work in office at the location shown on the requisition. Directly manage and coach a team of 10-20 phone-based Small Business Banking Consultants and Relationship Specialist support staff across multiple locations. Responsible for performance management, coaching, training & development, hiring, monitoring risk controls of staff. Maintains strong partnerships with numerous senior stakeholders, including Market Executives, Region Executives, Market Execution Leaders, Senior Product Managers, and others to ensure alignment and client-centric delivery. Small Business Banking Consultants are experienced sales teammates who provide expert advice, consulting and product recommendations to Small Business clients across all of their financial needs, including deposits, digital services, treasury services, lending, credit card, merchant services, insurance and other products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Please use numbers to separate each distinct responsibility. 1. Hire and train staff of Small Business Banking Consultants. 2. Ensure all client engagement, advice and sales activities are fully aligned to Truist's Purpose, Mission and Values through training, coaching and call monitoring. 3. Manage and drive sales performance of Small Business Banking Consultant staff, ensuring achievement of goals, including production across 10+ product categories, client retention, client deepening and revenue growth. Monitor performance reporting to ensure balanced performance across multiple objectives. 4. Manage weekly sales activities including facilitating sales calls, inspecting calling and referral activity, managing pipeline and holding Small Business Banking Consultants accountable for commitments. 5. Execute on Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) and development and delivery of custom solutions, including specific efforts to serve the retail banking needs of our clients' owners/management/associates (e.g. Commercial, Insurance, Premier Banking, Truist[redacted]). 6. Lead team through Truist's Consultative Sales Conversation to ensure the process is properly implemented and mastered, and documented through active personal participation and by monitoring and evaluating results. QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. College Degree or and Equivalent combination of education and work experience 2. 15+ years of sales / client relationship management experience in banking/financial products, including 7+ years sales / client management relationship with Small Business or Business Banking clients. 3. 5+ years of sales performance management experience in financial services 4. Expert-level understanding of business financial management, the business cash flow cycle, and the full set of financial solutions needed by a Small Business, including Credit, Treasury and personal financial management solutions for business owners. In-depth knowledge of business banking sales process and cycle. In-depth knowledge of business financial statements and tax returns as used in business credit applications. 5. Demonstrated ability to manage and coach phone-based sales teams, including proactive client contact, building rapport, understanding client needs, conducting in-depth financial reviews and effectively communicating solutions that meet client needs. Preferred Qualifications: 1.
